All you need is thermometer. You can get basic weather stations for under $100 with lots of great features and can graduate all the way up to professional stations costing thousands of dollars. One website I recommend is Ambient Weather. They have a great selection and can help you pick the right station. I’ve found Oregon Scientific stations are a good value and that the Davis Vantage Pro series is for the serious hobbyists. My weather station cost me around $400, but like above you can start with a basic weather station and work your way up.
